Mod Edit ve Write tool'larını hook'lar. Path'i .github/workflows/<name>.yml ya da .github/actions/<name>/action.yml olan bir çağrı kontrol edilir (.yaml da).

Yalnız edit'in eklediği satırlar okunur. Ref'i 40 ya da 64 karakterlik hex commit olan bir uses: değeri sabitlenmiştir ve geçer. Raporlanan her action için mod https://api.github.com/repos/<owner>/<repo>/commits/<ref> adresine Accept: application/vnd.github.sha header'ı ile sorar, bu da commit'i düz metin olarak döner. Bulgu, workflow o action'ları sabitleyene kadar açık kalır. Sonraki bir Edit ya da Write'tan sonra mod her açık workflow'u tekrar okur; ref'lerinin hepsi sabitlenmiş olan kapanır. Modelin kapatmadığı bir bulgu her main-loop turn sonunda tekrar ölçülür ve geriye kalan, bir sonraki prompt ile modele tek not olarak ulaşır. SHA'lar zaten bellekte olduğu için bu GitHub'a hiçbir şey sormaz:

deny modunda mod ayrıca, bir workflow hâlâ hareketli bir ref ile action kullanırken git commit, git push ve git merge komutlarını durdurur. Bir komutu durdurmadan önce her açık workflow'u tekrar okur, yani modelin sabitlediği bir dosya gate'i kendisi açar. Bir git commit yalnız kendi dosyalarından sorumludur: mod index'i okur (git diff --cached --name-only) ve commit açık workflow'lardan hiçbirini tutmuyorsa çalışmasına izin verir, kaç bulgunun durduğunu söyleyen bir satırla. push ve merge hiçbir index okumaz, bu yüzden orada her bulgu durur. The mod hooks the Edit and Write tools. A call is checked when its path is .github/workflows/<name>.yml or .github/actions/<name>/action.yml (.yaml too).

Only the lines the edit adds are read. A uses: value whose ref is a 40 or 64 character hex commit is pinned and passes. A local action (./.github/actions/setup) and a container (docker://alpine:3.20) have no commit to pin and pass too. Every other ref, a tag (@v4) or a branch (@main), is reported, actions/* and github/* included.

For each reported action the mod asks https://api.github.com/repos/<owner>/<repo>/commits/<ref> with the Accept: application/vnd.github.sha header, which answers the commit as plain text. No token is sent, so the anonymous rate limit applies (60 requests an hour per address). Each action and ref is asked once per session.

The model reads this note after the tool's result:

At most 10 actions are named and looked up, the rest counted. When GitHub does not answer, the action is named without a SHA, the note asks for the pin anyway, and the error is logged once.

The same moment writes one line to the transcript, so you see what the model was told. The line holds the actions alone, without the instruction:

The note and the line are separate channels: the model never reads the line, and you never read the note.

While the sidebar is open, those actions go there instead, one line per action as an entry in its stream, and the transcript stays clean. The entry stays until newer ones push it off the pane. With the sidebar closed, or without that mod installed, the transcript line is written as above.

A finding stays open until the workflow pins those actions. After a later Edit or Write the mod reads each open workflow again, and one whose refs are all pinned closes. A workflow that is no longer there closes too, because it uses no action any more; one that is there and cannot be read keeps its finding, because an unread file proves nothing:

With the sidebar closed the same text is one transcript line. The model reads nothing of this: it wrote the SHA itself.

A finding the model did not close is measured again at the end of each main-loop turn, and what is left reaches the model as one note with its next prompt. The SHAs are already in memory, so this asks GitHub nothing:

One note per turn, not one per prompt. Without this the finding would be said once, at the edit, and then stand in the pane while the model forgot it. You read nothing new: the pane already carries the same finding.

In deny mode the mod also stops git commit, git push and git merge while a workflow still uses an action by a moving ref. Before it stops one it reads each open workflow again, so a file the model pinned opens the gate itself. A git commit answers for its own files alone: the mod reads the index (git diff --cached --name-only) and lets the commit run when it holds none of the open workflows, with one line to you naming how many still stand. A push and a merge hold no index to read, so every finding stands there. There is no bypass; only the person turns the gate off with /action-pin mode note. note mode is the default and stops nothing.
